Alina Slobodian

Congratulations! My name is Alina Slobodyan, and I want to tell you about myself. She was born in the city of Kharkiv. From early childhood I liked to draw, redraw, copy. I always had painted holiday posters hanging at home, and at school I was also asked to draw something. Graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with a major in interior design. Already in the last courses, I started taking orders for watercolor portraits. I was very attracted to this material, which others called “difficult”. In the last course of the academy, we had the opportunity to represent our country in Strasbourg, France, on the occasion of the competition for the development of the European Prize. Ukraine, that is, we, took third place. She worked as a children’s illustrator and at the same time was completely fascinated by photography. But with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, she took up the brush again and painted every day. I understood that I found myself and will continue to create new works. What inspires me? All! And most of all I am inspired by nature. I admire mountain landscapes, in particular the Ukrainian Carpathians, which I depict in my drawings. I love watercolor sketches with the addition of graphic elements with a liner – this is an incredible and quick technique that I want to share with you in the mini course “Light watercolor with a liner. Architectural sketches”
